2023 August the First Week VAFEM Technical Knowledge: Method of Adding Lubricating Oil to the Release Bearing of Internal Combustion Forklift Clutch

The release bearing of the internal combustion forklift clutch works very frequently, and its damage frequency accounts for a large proportion of forklift failures. If the driver operates well and takes good care of it in a timely manner, it can be used for about 3 months. However, during medium maintenance, it is also necessary to replace it. If the driver's technical level is low, the release bearing of the forklift they are driving is damaged almost every month, and other components such as the release lever and clutch plate will also be damaged.

What are the reasons why clutch release bearings are prone to damage? In practical experience, although drivers were strictly required to drip oil on the separation bearing once a day, this not only cumbersome operation, but also frequent damage to the bearing.

After analysis, it is believed that due to the high temperature transmitted by the engine to the separation bearing, coupled with the high temperature generated by the high-speed rotation of the bearing, it is difficult for lubricating oil to remain in the bearing. The bearing operates continuously at high temperatures, and due to poor lubrication conditions, the separation bearing is prone to frequent damage.

According to the above problems, we have also tried to put the bearing in the grease Negage, so that the grease can be soaked into the bearing. After this treatment, the grease can fill the bearing, but its performance is greatly reduced due to the structural damage of the grease after high-temperature treatment. The effect of using this method is not ideal, and the service life of the bearing has not been extended. The release bearing was also directly greased with a pointed Grease gun.

After installation and inspection, the service life of the bearing has been greatly extended. This oil injection method has achieved satisfactory results, but the operation is relatively complex. Then we explored how to add butter when the engine was in doubt. First, the 475C engine was successfully tested, and then the 475C and 480492 engines were tested with good results. After repeated practice, improvement, and summary of experience, Z has finally developed a relatively simple oil injection operation method. The specific process is as follows:

1. Oil injection method for engine suspect body

First, open the clutch cover and observe the wear of the release bearing. If it is confirmed that the bearing is not damaged or the wear does not exceed the limit, remove the clutch pedal, adjust the connecting rod shaft pin to return the release bearing and its seat to the position behind Z, use a pointed nozzle Grease gun to fill the hole of the bearing seat with grease until there is oil overflow from the bearing, then slightly rotate the bearing, fill again, and repeat the above work until there is a little grease overflow around the bearing, Rotate the bearing again, observe the amount of oil, and if there is resistance to rotation, it indicates that the bearing is filled with butter. Then remove a small amount of grease that has leaked from the release bearing seat, and reassemble the removed pins and clutch covers.

2. Oil injection method for engine disassembly

Disassemble the engine to expose the assembly parts of the release bearing and the bearing seat, and use a pointed Grease gun to fill the small oil hole below the inner ring of the release bearing seat. If there is grease overflowing from the bearing, rotate the bearing until there is grease overflowing from every ring of the bearing.

After the above two methods of disposal, the separation bearing can no longer be refueled within six months.
